Maserati S.p.A. is an historical luxury automaker. Officine Alfieri Maserati was founded on 1 December 1914 in Bologna, Italy. Since then, Maserati has played a consistently important role in the history of sports car culture and its development. Maserati is a marque that began life in a local context but then went on to become a major international concern, with representatives in 45 countries.
Challenge
Design and develop a new web presence composed of 5 websites, one for each country, and one ownsers private space.
Project guidelines: promote user interaction, enhance the use of media, in-depth services and contents.
The project
The project scope moved from searching a sales support tool to more sophisticated space where luxury and beautiful images live together with precise and elaborate information.
The development of a media repository (storage of images, video, pdf and swf files) has been very important. This repository is integrated with the CMS and shared with all Group's foreign subsidiaries. It allows to control the use of media in the pages, to target each media with keywords and to search information in the repository itself.
The CMS is fully configurable in 8 languages thanks to a new and easy to use translation tool.
This tool allows every foreign subsidiary to be in charge of their own local content.
When the subsidiary complete the local web site, the central office check it and decide to publish it to make it visible to the world wide web.
The user authentication system let all users to sign on every Group web site regardless the domain that they belong to. The authentication system has been realized considering all the SEO activity's technical requirements

Next Open Innovation web portal is totally developed using JEE open source technologies and it's based on CMS magnolia 3.6.1
